View Full Version : Outdoor Strobist Type Lighting Help!

So far I have mostly been creating portraits for fun in doors. The majority of portraits I have done indoors have been quite suttle, soft lighting and have gone for the more natural look.

I am now wanting to try and create outdoor strobist shots. There is a patch of land behind my house that I have gone to before and want to create outdoor glamour type shots. I have a couple of models who are prepared to have photos taken in lingerie but I want to create a quite strobist look as I have noticed some of the people on this forum that shoot in the evening at the beach etc. I realise I am going to need to purchase some more gear but am unsure what to get. Indoors I have the power to use continuous lit soft boxes which just get plugged in but obviously I won't be able to use these out doors. I have a 580EX II which I am guessing I will use as my master. Can you tell me what else I need to create a perfect strobist shot. I currently use the 580 on camera. Can anyone suggest and link me to (ideally UK shops) where I can get some slave flashes (that are good) I also will need stands for them and am guessing umbrellas to shoot through.

I have money to spend but ideally want it to be as cheap as possible but still decent enough to achieve what I want.

Cheers
