My wife and I are currently in Calgary for a wedding, and thankfully got chance to get out into the mountains for a few days.

very nice shots. I really like the last three!
Is the last shot a long exposure with a change in the zoom?

I'm glad that you were able to sneak away from the wedding to capture these great pictures. The last pic with the zoom shift is interesting.

I'm not crazy about the zoom burst shot but the rest look nice.

I really like #1, 2 and 4 but #6 is the best in the series for me. Great work.

Great shots, enjoy your stay. Were there any goats around when you were shooting #5? There is a salt lick just south of the pull off on the highway for this shot, tonnes of wildlife around when we were down in June, but nothing when we were back in September.

Thank you for all the kind replies :)
I'm currently on a slow internet connection, so apologies if I don't answer all questions.
RE: the water - yes, it really is that colour. It's due to Rock Flour which comes from the water passing/coming from glaciers.
Normal water not looks boring compared :)
RE: the zoom - I exposed for approx 30 seconds, and kept my original shot framed for around 10, then started to zoom slowly until I reached the end of the barrel. I then left it to expose that 'shot' for around another 5 seconds or so.
To those of you wishing to go there, I would very much urge you to. It's outstanding!
Again, thank you for all the kind comments - much appreciated :)

beautiful
i was in the jasper/banff area earlier this summer. very little clouds and intense sunlight lead to less than spectacular results. i would love to revisit at around this time of year to photograph the stunning fall colours.

Top series!!!
I'm loving #2 and #6, the foreground in #2 makes the shot! Well done!

I think I'm in a couple of those! I work late downtown =)
Love the shots where low cloud level didn't kill the mountains!

6 is a wider version of 1 ;)
It's a photo of the same place, but was taken from a different location on a totally different day, and framed in a different way.
So, the same, but not the same... ;) :D

1 was cropped, as there was a party of people to the right of the image which I didn't want to include.
Perhaps this will make amens?

Great set of shots....though, on that last one, you may want to resize it down to 1024 pixels on the longest side.

Yup, image rules say it needs to fit in a 1024x1024 box.
I like the way you have the rockpile on the left side, but not the tourist facilities on the right...

Apologies if the original shot broke the rules.
I've now amended the post :)

Wow! I love 1, 2, and 6. Probably 6 the most! Great work on all of these though. Very familiar as I too was out there earlier this summer :)
