Anyone ever had problems with images being written extremely slow to the card in cold weather? I was out doing some shooting (aviation) yesterday, and it was 1 degree celsius (Canada) but with a very chilling wind.

I would take about 3 shots and would have to wait for the camera to finish writing the pics into the card.....very annoying. Missed a few good oppourtunities.

I have been out previously in slightly warmer weather (+5 degrees) and have never had this problem.

I can't imagine it effecting the card or electronics,. but it definitely hurts battery performance.

.

This is normal if the actual number is 4 shots. The 300D only has a 4 shot buffer, at which point you have to wait for it to empty before you can take more pictures (or atleast wait for it to empty 1 picture before you can take 1 more, and so on).
The buffer pauses emptying if you have the AutoFocus button pressed. That was a real pain when I had the 300D because I couldnt continue to compose and have the buffer empty in the background.
Perhaps you were firing off more shots than normal.
