I am trying to get rid f the halo and the white sky at the horizon but am having terrible difficulties. I have heard it can be done through cloning but I am confused as to what opacity/brushes and or other techniques to use.

If you're using photomatix take down the highlight saturation, should bring downt he brightness of the white, if i'm thinking of the right thing, other than that, i dunno :P

I like it....try exposure blending for taking care of the sky...you can get tutorials by searching on google....its a time taking procedure but the results will be what you are looking for..
thanks for sharing..

Great composition and subject. The only way I know to reduce halos is the Light Smoothing radio buttons. Check either #4 or 5 and they are usually gone. Going lower brings in the halos pretty quick after that. Not sure what the white is from, unless it's a blown out cloud bank in the distance.

well you have a really nice line to follow, try makking a selection of the whole sky and either replce it completely or re color it or clone in the halo parts.

I like the image apart from the white spot - if you can fix that it'll look killer.

I was thinking of this. I took some pictures of some cool sky a while ago but can't find them.
