Hi,
New user so I guess I better show some of my pictures!

To start an image which I KNOW there is a picture in somewhere, but I am having a bit of difficulty bringing out something I am happy with...

I am interested in the relationship between the couple and the swans to give some 'life' to the scene, but I am not sure it is working

I have tried to bring some shadow detail out in the close crop, but maybe I have simply washed out the scene?

The buildings behind are a bit horrid I think! Cash prize for recognising the harbour*

Don't know the harbour!
Crop the picture in half above the chap's head but include most of the blue (door?) behind the figures.

Selectively darken everything above the harbour wall (except the figures) to reduce the distraction from the main part of the image.

The figures are still a little small in the composition but if cropped as above will still have some connection to what's going on below.

Any help?
