Does anyone know if you can setup the G10 as a remote camera just like you would a regular slr? With a pocketwizard.

I have seen the smaller version of the remote cable listed as a g10 accessory so that makes me think that if someone had the right cable for a pocketwizard you could do it......

I imagine someone will find a way to do it. From what I've seen the remote for the G10 has a mini stereo type plug. So if someone can get the info on what kind of signaling is going on that connector it could be as simple ast making a cord. I'm eagerly awaiting for someone to hack a remote as well.

I wish it was as simple as making a new connector for my $29 Hong Kong RF remote that has the Canon 2 pin connector.

Cheers

Canon provides the RS60-E3 Remote switch (sold separately) for use with the G10.
See page 275 of the G10 Camera User Guide for details.

yes but we need some bright spark out there to convert it into a pre tigger cable so you can attach a pocketwizard ..... :)

I know someone out there is already tinkering with this. Let us know when they are available.... I also want to be able to trigger via a IR sensor so if anyonw has some thoughts lets hear them.... my checkbook is open.

Cheers.

OK, so here's the pin out for the wired remote connector. Anyone good enough with wiring to make a cord for a PW connection?

Cheers.

I just read the ebay listing and it does not list the G10. If you buy one please let us know if it works properly, much appreciated.

As was said earlier, the RS60-E3 (or any Chinese equivalent) will work with the G10 or any of the Digital Rebels.

I really like the Phottix C6 "Cleon" Wireless Remote because it can also be used as a wired remote and the receiver/wired part can be mounted in the hotshoe so it doesn't flop around.
(there is not hotshoe connection, it's just a place to hold it)

Just got my remote today! works as advertised.

The receiver takes a Lithium 3V/CR2. Box says battery in the transmitter is a 12V23A and it must be inside. Both batteries provided btw.

And my thanks to you for that. The box says the originals life expectancy is 3 years. I'll wait and see.

Anybody found info on getting a PW to trigger a G10? I'd love to mount this little guy in some crazy spots where my big cameras can't go, but want the reliability of the PWs...

EDIT:
http://www.pocketwizard.com/products/cable_accessory/cameracables/cm-e3-p/

Any reason that wouldn't work? It doesn't list the G10, but all the cameras it lists (400D, 450D, etc) are listed with the G10 on the ebay adds for remote G10 triggers and it looks like it's using the same kind of input jack...anybody given that a try?
