This is what was recommended to me by B&H. It eliminates the problem of the on board flash or Speedlight flash triggering strobes too early due to pre-flash.

I mount the transmitter on the hot shoe without need of a cord. (The Xti has no plug input.)

The receiver (Ultra Slave) attached with velcro and plugged into one of my SP monolight strobes which in turn will trigger all slaves in the area. Make sure you buy the correct size cord for your lights.

The receiver I bought is the second one down on the list of accessories (WPSSL 3000'), but the newer "digital" slave may be better. I bought the non-digital slave over a year ago before the digital units were available and it works fine.

I have used it many times and it works very well. I don't have the pre-flash problem with this system.

Thanks for the tip!

I see $150 worth of gear here. Radio triggers would come in under that.

Additional receivers would be about $70 instead of $90.

Good to know.

What I like about my WEIN set up is that there are no cords hanging down. No need for a separate power cord. Just plug in the small cord into the flash and velcro it to the side of the flash. Very clean and hidden.

The Cybersyncs are the same. Look at the battery operated receivers. And they are quite small.

And how does the Wein work room to room?

Looks good. The Wein doesn't need a battery in the receiver though.

Haven't needed to test it's distance, so I don't know. It claims to be 3000' but...?
