(prior page) Mike, the first shot is really nice!
The second would be too if you had shot in manual, adjusted your exposure to correctly expose the background and then filled in the foreground with your 580ex (or even the popup if you weren't carrying the external).

Friends of a friend took their daughters to Anaheim Disneyland for the first time.
Drove all the way from the Bay area and made their day. Recorded it on video.
Click it, it's awesome even with a Nikon.

I stayed in the building that you can see when I was there last month. Beautiful area, but unfortunately it was always loud at that pool when I went by, or to it.

Exposure 0.1 sec (1/10)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 70 mm
ISO Speed 3200

Make sure to get a speed pass first thing in the morning, and line up to take your spot at least an hour before it starts. From where I was standing (bridge leading to paradise pier) I was somewhat centered on the ferris wheel, but the structures to the left and the right obstruct the view. If you look closely enough at the pic below, you can see the shadow of some light posts I removed with content-aware fill in photoshop. With an UWA lens, I'm thinking you could get some awesome shots posted up in the rails on the platform to the right, but play with the perspective during the day to find the ideal spot (I wish I had done so)

I would have loved to have seen the transformation from "new" when they shot the pre-Twilight Zone piece, to how it looks to riders.

It's a killer "set." They could make big(ger) coin renting it after hours for photo shoots! :lol:

Thanks a lot!!!! The main reason I was over hear at night was because I was staying at the Beach Club. That is such a great area. Better yet, there is some GREAT shooting to be had.
