Can anyone tell me how to link my d60 into my laptop to directly download my images onto my hard drive, and also instantly preview my image on the monitor. Thanks in advance.

To capture images and download them directly to your computer, use the RemoteCapture software that is supplied with the D60 (on the EOS Digital Solutions CD).

Due to the way in which the D60 SLR camera works, you cannot preview images, either on the camera's built in LCD screen, or on a computer. This is the feature (of digital cameras) that I miss most having previously owned several 'compact' digital cameras, then bought a D60. Having said that, the D60 is far, far superior to any of those 'compacts', including my most recent one, a Canon G2. I've kept the G2 as my 'party' camera.

I have a D30 and have been using breezybrowswer and the cameras cord to download and then rotate and etc.

But.......I just got a $20 CF reader. I just put the microdrive in the reader.....plug it in....and the microdrive pops up like another drive. Click and drag...and the file download alot quicker than the camera cord.

Breezybrowser is worth the $35.

I agree with jonsimpson; BreezeBrowser is a very useful product for any EXIF compliant camera. Also, I myself transfer photos to my computers using card readers instead of connecting cameras directly.

However, if you want to take pictures and have the resultant files stored on the computer instead of on the CF card, you must obviously connect the camera to the PC, and use software like RemoteCapture.
