Hi, have a 300d and have problems when out clubbing, a lot of the pictures are ruined because of the smoke, is there anything I can do to reduce the smokey effect?

Turn the smoke generator off ? :)

I hope you aren't using flash -- if you are, then stopping the flash will minimize the smoke problem. Smoke acts just like fog when you're driving with your headlights on -- it reflects the light back to you rather than letting it pass through to what you are trying to see.
You should be able to capture exactly what your eyes see -- unfortunately in dimly lit clubs, the shutter stays open longer and more smoke can drift across the frame.
So one suggestion would be turning the ISO up so that the shutter speed can be increased, or only go to clubs where they don't use smoke machines and there isn't any smoking by patrons allowed.

Set it to ISO1600, it's what I use for shooting gigs.
