So I was running around town today when I thought I should get a new CD. I was walking around best buy, and I wondered into the camera section of the store. I was playing around with some cameras when I saw the G9 with a HUGE price change. I didn't think much of it and a sales guy from BB came up to me and asked if I needed any help. I asked him "Yea, you don't happen to sell a CanonG10 do ya?" and I thought his answer was going to be no. He said "We arent displaying them yet and people have preordered 6 of them, but we have 2 left with no one to claim them. Well, to make a long story short I walked out with a new camera...This this is niiiiiiiiiiiiice. :D

Just thought I should let ya all know. ;)

Yea I always find it funny when best buy is stocking stuff Ritz, circuit city, or other photography stores don't...Oh well, I will play with my G10 tomorrow and post more about it. So far I've taken a few photos and played with the settings, it's very easy to get used to and you can flow through the settings.

I saw the G10 at Best Buy last night as well. I was also at Calumet Photo yesterday to visit since it was "Canon Day" and the Canon rep was there. The G10 were all sold out. Funny the had it at Best Buy. I debated on getting it but I'm not sure since I'm saving for a 5DM2.

I will post photos soon, just need to upload them, my buddy came back from Iraq today so I've been a little bit busy running around haha. :D

Ok well, Here are 3 photos (they are straight from the camera). My best friend is a contract firefighter in IRAQ and he has been gone for 5 months. He finally got to come home for a week and we went up to see him. Brought my G10 along, but I forgot to set these in RAW so they are shot in jpeg(doh):

First one is my buddies nephew playing catch with a ball:

Next is my Buddies Girlfriend and his brother:

And the last one, My friend back from IRAQ, glad to see it hasn't changed him:

After reading this thread, I went to best buy, since i didn't see the g10s on their site, and sure enough they had about 9 of them waiting to be sold. I picked one up. Just a little irked that they didn't have extra batteries for it and that the RAW files aren't picked up by LR or PS. Guess its something I have to deal with right now.

The highlight of my purchase was the salesperson trying to sell me a memory card. He said, "I would recommend this card right here." I asked why and his response was "Its a great card especially if you do lots of slow motion pictures. The camera sends the information to the card while you're taking the picture and since this is a fast one, its beneficial to you." I wanted to  in his face but I was "polite" and gave him one of the  look instead.

Thanks for the heads up. I stopped by my local BB and picked one up and also a PNY 8MB SD Card for $34 (Advertised sale).

Will the G10 be sold in a silver body?

I'm actually having some difficulty. I don't have my manual on me(im at work) but when I shoot in RAW and try to upload them on to my Mac it says it doesn't reconized the file format? Do I need to install the CD that came with the Camera?

Other then that its a neat little camera to mess around with. :]

Just got one! Looks pretty good for Point n Shoot. No more lugging around EOS for simple stuff. Yippe!

I'm in the same damn boat. I have a G9 and I love it... but i am planning to get a sD MII and a 24-70 L.... but I keep debating on if I really need a 21MP DSLR when even the G9 will do a great job up to 16X20...

What to do.......:(

I saw a G10 on display today at the Best Buy here in west Phx, AZ (Arrowhead) - $499.

I do like the reconfigured top knobs.
