I feel very strongly that wide angle is an important part of weddings, but it's harder to use IMO because it tells more of a story than a telephoto lens does, and if any parts of the story don't coalesce right, then it's not as interesting. I also understand that the tendency to have lots of depth of field makes it more difficult to isolate and only tell the parts you want to tell.
I think telephoto is easier because isolating one or two subjects and blurring out a background makes for a much simpler situation - which is very good for me because I am better at simpler things.
How do you properly use a wide angle lens to make interesting shots while still having that comparatively great depth of field? How do you compose it? It's one of my biggest difficulties and I feel that I don't do a very good job when using wide angle.
Anyone?
