getting out of a slump?

I don't know what to call it. I haven't shot in a while and I need to know how to start shooting again. any Ideas?

Come up with an idea for a photo project. Search the internet for ideas, look at on line galleries, look through your magazines, take your camera for a walk. Something will strike you...end of slump.

Sometimes just shooting can get the creative juices going but i find looking at other peoples work can inspire me sometimes

Pick a lens, any lens and then go shoot 20 shots with it.

You can always go to worth1000.com and try your hand at one of their photo contests, even if you don't submit anything it's still full of ideas.

Same with our POTN Competions section. I personally like the Speed Challenges.

Or, go to someplace you enjoy: a park, a downtown, a vista.....try to sit down for twenty minutes peacefully, looking around and envisioning shots.

Bet you don't make it ten minutes!

I've been shooting... I went and bought the 85mm 1.8 and I've been using it. I also shot a sweet 16, I did portraits for my inlaws, and my sister-in-law.

How are you coming along?
