A question about recovering pictures

So here's the situation: I took two pictures, deleted the first one. Now I want it back, but RescuePRO and CardRecovery don't show it. There's photo 1022 and then 1024 - 1023 seems to have been erased permanently from the record. Is this possible? I took 1025. Did that write over 1023 and now it's gone forever?

Possibly. Whenever you write to a card you run the risk of overwriting deleted pictures. That's why everyone says, over and over, don't do anything to the card until you have recovered your pictures.

Also, possibly not. It it has not been literally overwritten, some other recovery program may be able to find it.
