Here are a couple I shot a few months ago, and finally had nerve enough to post. They were shot with an S5IS, Raynox 1.54 converter, a tripod, using a 3 second shutter delay in manual mode. C&C very welcome.

1. Image was taken in the BW mode in camera.

#2 Original color of the shot, which was fairly low in the eastern sky, approximately 35 degrees above the horizon. Basically the same shot as #1 only I didn't use any camera effects.

Nice capture. Much better than I've been able to get yet.

Nicely focused and good exposure!

Careful! The moon is the gateway drug to astrophotography! lol

Thanks Nicely focused and good exposure!

Thanks very much. The only reason I have a P&S camera and not a dslr is budgetary, and the same can be said for why I don't have a nice 8-10 inch TS. I have a lot of images on film from a nice TS and an SLR.

I have looked at the stars for years, but right now I can't capture them. Maybe someday.;)

That's a great shot of the moon. Keep it up.
