I am posting this picture as a test. I have made some changes in my settings/monitor/color management. I would appreciate any comments good or bad to determine if the picture has good contrast, brightness, and color. I'm not concerned about subject matter or composition. Please be honest, I want to be able to share pictures that are pleasant to look at. I'm hoping that I will eventually get to that point. Thanks in advance for taking the time to look, and especially for posting your comments.

I'm getting no help tonight. I don't know if I've created a masterpiece, or if it's so bad that looking at it has caused viewers to violently hurl on their keyboards, therefore making it impossible to type a response. Just kidding. Anyhow, I guess I'll wait and check it out tomorrow on my office pc. Perhaps I will have an excuse to go home sick. . . . . ha ha.

I'm only a newbie so I'm not sure how much my opinion counts but I think it needs a bit more contrast and a bit more colour. I'm not sure what colour the blue was to start with (It looks very pale) but the trees look like they could prehaps be a bit greener.
I guess the professionals comments will show what my comments are worth.:D

bennyboy, I checked my post from my office pc, and you are right on. It is rather blah looking. Thanks for your response. I'm pretty much a newbie here too, and am just trying to get things set up right. Your opinion counts as much as anyone else's in my book. I'll work on it, now that I have a starting point. Thanks for being involved.

Heck, I'll chime in with my 2¢; although, that may be overvalued since I'm way more a consumer of creative output than a producer of it.
First off, the impact of the perspective you were going for is diluted by the wall on the left side of the image. As a test, I'd crop that out just to see if there's an improvement or not.
Second, the pale colors of the porch dominate the photo so I agree with the previous poster; i.e. increase contrast. It may even be a good candidate for a B&W conversion.
I hear you about the importance of feedback. Glad to offer mine for what it's worth.
BTW, I do like the photo.
Cheers
