I tried going the route of Tamron 17-50 and was disappointed by that lens. I think that I would also be disappointed by the Canon 17-55, though probably not quite as much - so I have decided to go with another full frame lens that has both fast autofocus and full frame compatibility.
This is a forced purchase: I need a standard zoom to cover a range that I would otherwise lack if and when my Tamron 28-75 completely bites the dust. I am probably going to send my Tamron in to see if they'll repair it, then sell it afterwards.
Reasonable offers for Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L lenses are considered; 99% of offers will receive a response. I am interested in physical condition, any focus issues, age, purchased new, used or refurbished, first owner or not, and functional status of the lens.
Also willing to consider 35mm f/1.4L or 16-35 f/2.8L II. I need something to fill a gap in my focal length range more than anything - wide to normal.
Thank you,
Joey
