Hi everyone,

I have a G5 and I have been happy with it for the year I have had it. I am now trying to learn more about it, expanding my cabilites with it. Now, my question is, Can you manually focus with the G5? If you can, could you inform me how to?

Thanks.

Edit: after fusting around with my camera, I think I have figured it out. You hit the MF button, correct? If this is right, any mods can delete this post.

... if I can find it... I don't think I ever opened those books that you call a "manual". haha... I will go look for 'em.

No big deal.

Manual focus on the G series sucks, anyway.

Best regards,
Andy

If canon incorporated a manual focus ring on the lens barrel, and the whole image adjusted focus not just some dorky looking half box on the lcd, then it would fab!

Sure it's not the best feature on the G5...but I'd rather they included it,
I.ve found it useful in studio/macro settings. For me, one of the great strengths
of the G series is the wealth of options available to the photographer.....
am I taking this too seriously?

GO PICK ON SOMEONE ELSE'S CAMERA! :)

I like manual focus, but I tend to set the distance than move towards the subject rather than trying to dial it in on the fly.
