here are some shots i took at the Starland Ballroom in NJ
im relatively new to shooting large venues and was hoping for some feedback on what i didnt wrong/right so CC is much appreciated. im used to shooting small shows where i am the light source.
i was also shooting a borrowed 30d instead of my 10d and what an amazing difference haha.

I can only suggest shooting wide open rather than f/4.5 to get a little more exposure or faster shutter speed ... they seem uniformly soft so maybe they need to be sharpened a touch.

Since I've been shooting bands at night in available light lately, I think they're pretty darn good.

yea i understand, the problem is my lens has a variable aperture so i just stuck in on 4.5 and left it. im still getting used to shooting these type of venues so its still in the learning what works stages haha.

thank you acchildress!
much appreciated

Not bad man
Like others said, open up the lens more or bump up the ISO

I just shot a stop on this tour as well

Thanks man

next time give your 50/1.8 a shot

It'll be like a 85/1.8 on your crop sensor
Very good FL for a show

well i like the wide angle so i can be up against the stage and get most of the person in frame. how could i use the 50 in limited space like the press pit?
