Anyone got any tips, hits or other info??? LOL....

I have never worked with an actual model before.... A photography friend of mine was working with a model a few weeks ago and he sent me a message asking if I'd like to work with her. She's looking to work with different photographers in the area and he mentioned me to her. I said sure, but that i had worked with models before.....

So I have a meeting with her on Saturday. What should I ask? I should probably take a long my portfolio. She's been on my site, but maybe seeing a few prints would be nice?

So anyone have any tips? Any comments would be great....

Definitely, show her some of your work, but just treat her as you wouldn any other person you would collaborate with on a project. Find out what she wants to get out of the shoot, and make sure you're clear about what you want to achieve. Be professional, courteous and honest and everything should be fine.

Thanks for the comments Mark...

What Mark said and make sure you're prepared so that if anything goes wrong (e.g. flash failure) you have a backup plan to keep the shoot going. If you start to fret because you weren't prepared, it'll affect the model too and her belief in your abilities will fall.

Well... prepared for equipment failure and such. Don't go "Oh crap! Flash died! AHHH!!!" (Run around like a chicken w/o a head) :p

Just make sure you can work around it is what I mean.

LOL... I'm use to my batteries crapping out on in with my flash, that puppy sucks them up like there's no tomorrow.. LOL.. And if something does go wrong, I not one to go into panic mode... I just work around it.. :D

What are you concerned about? She is just a person. Probably inside just as concerned as you about doing a good job and doing well in the assignment.

Always be frank, honest and direct.

What are you shooting?
