It seems like everyone now has a photography blog, including myself at http://sallyfordphotography.blogspot.com
(mine is actually in-framed at my main site www.platteproductions.com/photo (http://www.platteproductions.com/photo) but here it is out of frame)
You probably have put a lot of work into yours so show it off a little and post it here.

It's so frustrating that I've been working hard showing my works without getting regular viewers. Anyway, have a look!
Wow I haven't seen a blog like that - just photos. I think you might get more regular viewers if they knew it was a blog that gets updated regularly (maybe they do know) and if you could journal a little I think it can be a point of interest for your blog. I think the concept is cool though. Thanks for posting it.

Mine is simply a regular photoblog format. The first priority is the image with text as supplement ("click to reveal details"). Most of well-known photoblogs do this:
http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/
http://www.j-roumagnac.net/index.php
http://www.marta.com/
I found this method a great way to display photos. Text often steals attention from the photo or forces too much emotion/interpretation/information to the viewers when the photo itself is already doing the job.

I enjoyed viewing your site, your very talented - I like the baby in the basket! I would like to get involved with "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" but am a little afraid I would muck the shot that is so important, maybe I need a little more experience but I really respect you for it. One thing that confused me was the entry right after showed a sleeping baby and I thought that was a child shot for the organization. BTW have you had any requests for it and if so how did it go?

By slideshow type you mean where you have to use the next and back buttons to view the images? I figure that is the best way to do a photoblog since you are doing a different photo as a separate post.
Thanks for the kind words though! :D

I suspect that one of the reasons Blogspot is so popular is because it's relatively easy to use for those of us who are html challenged, and being owned by Google it is more apt to pop up in Google's search engine since it is owned by those folks.

Thanks very much Chris! Appreciate the compliment!
I try hard to keep my content and approach fresh. It gets harder (though many thought it should get easier) to bring new ideas to how to photograph a static object of a fixed size.
Also as for the 10 minutes past 10 hands - its not so much a rule but accepted practice of commercial watch photography as it shows off the dial best with the hands in that position. About 90% of the time I do not bother with setting the hands that way and for good reason.
First - to prove to the public - esp for my public images, these are not commercially driven nor commercial photos. Although I must be quick to add that some brands have happily accepted my images with the hands in positions other than 10:10.
Second - The precise hour, minutes and seconds of that unique photo allows me to prove that the image is mine if someone tried to use it or claim its his/hers. Watches are ubiquitous and esp for the popular models, it can get difficult to prove the image is yours - unless your original has something unique (apart from the watermark). :-)
Thanks again!
Cheers

I have a wordpress blog, but with plenty of spammers and the look (too lazy to change!) I've decided to switch to the ease of blogspot. My website (cnimagery.com) is being completely overhauled and updated as well. I will post when it's up.

I'm about to start a blog soon. Which blog is better to use? I've noticed that many of you are using blogspot for your blogging.
Should I go with wordpress or blogspot?
Can you change the domain name to a 'yoursite.com' using blogspot?

I use blogger.com for mine and its excellent. You can change the domain or infact host it outside of their infrastructure if you wish.

I say go with blogspot. all in all, I think it's better. I've used both and blogspot took no time getting used to.

Heres mine. Newly started. I am enjoying adding to it immensely. I find it most amusing that my blog is barely read by anyone other than those I give the address to. So half the time im writing to an imaginary audience. Cracks me up

I think any blogging platform will do as long as you keep the content fresh and up to date.
I personally prefer Wordpress over Blogger due to the fact that it seems a little bit easier to make the site design a little more unique in my opinion.
With all of this said...I have recently started using mojoblog. It is an extension for Joomla that is based off of Wordpress. It allowed me to use the Joomla CMS but have the Wordpress blogging platform on my frontpage.
You can see it at http://tornadolive.com (http://tornadolive.com/)

I use blogspot for mine at www.simonbills.com (http://www.simonbills.com) and have found it to be excellent. Another things I'd highly recommend is signing up to google analytics so you can keep track of who's visiting your site, my latest post actually talks a lot about this so feel free to check it out if you're interested.

Regarding blogger vs. wordpress - I have used both in past and personally prefer wordpress. However there are two very important features for me that wordpress lacks: 1) ability to use custom domain (blogger has this in free version) and 2) ability to insert html/javascript. Because of these two I am using blogger.

Half the time I feel like I'm writing to an imaginary audience too... if it weren't for search engine bots that crawl my pages every now and again, I might never see any page views. But I just keep hoping...

Just started it a week ago and have 325 views. Unfortunately it is for a sad reason. Most of my views are from my blog about one of the victims of Flight 3407 that I went to highschool with. So if you dont count those I prolly have about 100. But I was never a big blogger but now I love it because I can write anything I want and I dont care what people think lol.

The posting frequency isn't all that great, but please take a look anyway.
I see that allot of you use blogger.com for your photos, I do too, but I have modified the layout a bit. Easy things can be done like removing the navbar and edit the with of the site to make blogger look better.
