Tenerife is the McDonald's of all holiday destinations for Europeans. And the Veronicas shopping center is the Big Mac. At Veronicas all kind of people gather - day and night.
"Looky, Looky"-man is the standard streetseller. Usually an African male, selling sunglases, jewlery and the like. His female counterpart is selling her skills by making braids. "Have a look at my work, pretty, you have beautiful long hair", is the slogan said one visitor. They can be skillful, but there is a catch. The price may be slightly volatile. I visited the Island of Tenerife and the Playa de las Americas for a truly lobotomical vacation. I certainly did not heed the warnings, but visited Veronicas at night for some clubbing. Truly enjoyed myself.
After one night of clubbing I went for a walk on the street boulevard on somewhat cloudy day, packing a Canon EOS 20D with EF 50mm f/1.4 lens. Suddenly I passed the money-excahnge with these two ladies sitting at the front. Seeing the text, was just a too good chance. Stopping and taking a few steps back I prepared for the shot. Apparently the older lady had quessed what I was thinking and covered her head. The younger seemed to be in deep thought. I cracked the shot and saw the covered head. Looking around I saw few "Looky, Looky"-men walking towards me. It may be that they represented the ladies modelling agency or then it may not be. As I was not too keen to find out - considering the wide range of possible compensations - I jumped to a taxi wich took me to my hotel.
The camera was set to Aperture Priority-mode, with F-setting of 5.6. The ISO setting was 100 and the exposure time appears to be 1/200 seconds.
As this is my very first posting here, and in any case I am just coming back to photography after few years pause, any comments and suggestions would be wellcome. Concerning the picture itself and whether the backgrounds for pictures should be like in this message.
PS. I had some problems with Image upload as well as with the resizind the file. Please forgive me, if there is some problem with this thread.
