For those fortunate people who have already purchased a G10 I have several questions, please.

How much barrel distortion is there at 28 mm? How much corner fall off in light?
Is there pin cushioning at full telephoto?
Does the G10 use the same battery as the G9?
Is the filter adapter the same as the G9?Would appreciate your insite into these. I have read about noise and it looks promising. I guess still too soon to know about the dust sealing of the lens for internal dust but if the manual says anything I would sure like to know. I imagine Canon willo not say anything about it though since that would be admitting there was an internal dust problem with the G9 and would open the flood gates for design fault service on G9s.

There is a little bit of barrel distortion, but it doesn't seem extreme. I need to take some more wide angle shots of buildings and I'll let you know. Same with pin cusion.

It is a different battery. New design.

Not sure on the filters. Never owned them for G9.

Not sure this got answered elsewhere, but the adapter is different from G9. Its still a 58mm thread so you can use the same filters. The little nit I have on the adapter (small) it is a 2 stage adapter and does not allow you to go wide (without vignettes) so you have to use the 1st stage only if using the full wide angle aspects of it. No big deal, it easily unscrews and your off and running. Guess thats what we get for getting a wider FOV like requested.

Lens in WA end - first half of adapter.
