Took some of original Canon 20D colour infrared shots and turned them b/w, what do you all think?

Not bad at all...haven't tried that filter myself on the 20D...to really try it out I recommend shooting at a good cloudy sky .
Good effect !!

Why is it that the pics look blurry to me. Is it because of the long exposure and the trees were swaying in the wind.....?

Manufacture have several screw-in type IR filters. They only allow IR light to pass through, and it takes VERY low shutter speed, since there isn't any light left to come through...plus the fact that most digital camera has a anti-IR filter on the sensor doesn't make it any better.

The filter goes for around $120+ depending on the manufacture.

Here is the one from B+W http://www.schneideroptics.com/filters/filters_for_still_photography/infrared/

This dark red filer is for black and white ifrared films and filters at light below approximately 650nm. It allowss pictures of a pure red image while making good use of the relatively low sensitivity of infrared films. Filter factor is approx. 20-40.

This seems like Ultra Violet filter instead....usually IR filter on color film only shows red, no?? So on digital camera it should also show a hint of red.

Like the pictures from here.
