I like the effect, especially on the first one. I'd like to try taking that shot too, but something tells me I won't be allowed to shoot from that particular location. Nicely done.

I'm totally intrigued with that processing... I don't think I'm talented enough with processing to pull it off.... but it is totally COOL!!!!

They are very cool shots and well processed too. It looks like you started with some excellent images.
I don't think processing is that difficult. It's a selective blur applied if I recall correctly. These are very well done.

What is this process called? I'd like to look it up and try it out.

Some of the pics look like they were meant for this effect, some don't.
Good all around though.

It goes by many names :
- faux tilt shift
- tilt shift effect
- selective focus effect
It is very simple in photoshop.

Did you use a tilt shift lens or just an effect in an editing software? Where did you get those toys? Great idea by the way!!!!!

I keep coming back to these - just amazing. The clarity you are achieving in the focused area is terrific and your eye for picking the pictures this works on is equally excellent. They are all beyond intriguing and bear detailed study. It would be difficult to pick a favorite but that sunset bridge shot stands out for me.
Are these shot with your super wide angle?

Actually these were all done with a 24-105 on a 5D. Thanks for the complements.

I used a gradient quick mask and the lens blur filter.
Here is a quick tutorial to get started, then you can experiment.

Strange that it seems so new to so many (guess everybody here doesn't sit around B&N looking at british photog mags like me and darktiger). Seems like this look is a hit.
But it does help to have the right photos to start off with (and most of these are definitely in that category).

He used photoshop, see my post above for the verbage. Google it, you should have no issues finding tutorials. None of those are toys, its the intended effect of the postprocess.

yeah...part of the process usually involves Saturation +40 (helps creat the illusion of plasticity.
