Shot the football game vs. the Citadel last weekend. First day game I've ever shot. A few different problems, haha.

Are there any secrets to getting shadow detail in the black jerseys/faces while not blowing out the white jerseys? I just exposed for the highlights and added some fill light in PP but it brought out the noise (although shot at ISO 200)

Everything was shot with a 20D and a 300 f/4 non-is

C & C please! Any comments more than welcome

not bad for a first time out TC. Work on more faces for impact but all in all, these are nice. As for exposure, unfortunately under bright sun like that, something usually has to give and I favor clipping a highlight here and there to expose faces that are tough under the helmet shadows and overhead sun.

Thanks for the reply. I think I did a bit better getting faces in some of my other shots, I have about another 50 keepers (out of about 300, I was pretty happy with that). I had a hard time picking ones I liked. The fringing was pretty bad in some though.
