Man, I looked all over for my tripod plate. I wanted wanted to do some HDR's of fall foliage. I thought I put it in my main bag but I looked and it wasn't there. I pulled everything out of my camera bag more than a few times, checked my other camera bags, backpacks, looked all around the house, in my car in my wife's car, my kids toy box, I checked my desk probably 4 times, pulling everything out. Checked my wifes desk. I looked everywhere.
Then I got kind of pissy because I couldn't find it anywhere. I had to order a new one. New one came today $35.
I open up my camera bag to put the plate in there and I noticed that my lost tripod plate is attached to the tripod collar of my 150 macro!! I must have pulled that collar out 5 times looking for the lost plate and didn't see it on there!!
At least I have two plates now.... I guess..........

I keep plates permanently attached to both my bodies and my telephoto lenses -- less hassle that way.

I just keep mine on my tripod. That's where I look for it first.

I wish I had another one- If I have one on my camera with my wide angle and then want to use my telephoto, lots of work to switch it over.

Same here - - - except I don't have glass that needs plates.
(Reminder to self: save for glass that needs tripod plates!)

"Quick Release" plates are only "quick" when you don't have to remove the QR plate from a camera or lens merely to fasten a different camera or lens to the tripod. In my opinion, one should have separate QR plates for each and every device that may be mounted on the tripod.

Well, its on the camera now and never coming off. I just feel bad that I was such a jerk to my wife because I couldn't find it and it was right in front of me!!

I don't use my tripod enough to keep the plate on my camera it gets in the way. I've used it maybe 3 times in the past 6 months.

^Yeah, for the most part. I have mine attached to my camera and on for my 70-200. Doubt I'd buy another if i got the 150 macro and 100-400...well, I might get 3 total.
