This is where Calvin stands all the time at Westbury Pharmacy Cafe. Except when he needs to ring someone up - at which time he moves a little bit to his right.
All comments appreciated.

Hi Tuna,
Welcome to the forums.
For me, there's a bit too much going on in this picture. It doesn't really convey any particular message. The guy at the counter looks like an interesting subject for a candid close up shot though :)

Thanks for the welcome and the comment, KO.
I have posted this image on other forums and someone else made a similar comment about cropping the photo in ther manner you suggest. I will give the same answer I gave then - this image, to me, isn't really just a portrait of Calvin. Whenever I visit this place, this is what I see as I pay - the smallness of Calvin, further accentuated by the overbearing burden of his signs. That is what I had hoped to capture and I think many may see that. However your comment shows that I could be wrong...there could be a different direction I could take with the image. So here is a cropped version similar to what you mention for comparison. I think I still prefer the original, wider crop but I will let you guys decide which way to go.

I like the fist image better. The B/W really suites the borders of his signs. Once you explained the context of little man and big signs the pic took on a humorous slant I hadn't picked up yet.
I like it a lot.

Calvin as sign? He's a walking graphic. If he walks. Um, maybe he's a moving sign? Regardless he sits within a cacophony of messages. Deconstructionists will short circuit in there interpretations of these texts.. um... this text.
Thank heavens you decided to reproduce this in monotone. Trouble is, my brain is filling in the colors and it keeps rebooting!
This is a masterpiece of modern frazzle. There is everywhere to look, yet nowhere... and the problem is, most of us will look at this and wonder about your point. And it is their wonder which reeeely makes me wonder...
And wonder is so essential to art.
Thanks for sharing,
Ted
