I had my IS off when I wanted it ON! But nonetheless I found this bird of prey in my old tree today. Not sure exactly what it is however . . . the beak is curved like a golden eagle, but the breast feathers seem too light. If one of you can help, well go right ahead, lol. My kind thanks as always.

I see bald eagles in groups but this one is usually a single. You could very well be right Bob, I don't see enough young golden eagles to know them well. It is not our common red tailed hawk, it is much larger than they . . .

No expert, but he looks like a juvenile bald eagle to me. We saw a few of them in Alaska last year.
