Are they bad or just no c&c?

They all seem a tad soft, what lens were you using? He is terribly cute!!

according to exif you shot all of these at 2.8 and iso 1000, it might have helped to stop the lens down a bit.

I used the 50 1.8. I had no idea I was shooting so high! There were a few that were blurry but i didn't think I posted those ones. Maybe I should wear my glasses when I'm editing pictures b/c I still can't tell

Were you shooting on auto?

No not at all. Havn't done that for about a year ;)

you need to stop your lens down to about f/4 at 2.8 the focal plane or DOF is pretty narrow. did you crop these at all?

a little soft.....but priceless shots non the less! as a mom myself I'd just like to gooble him up! my favorites are 1, 2, 4, and 7....his expressions are awesome. I'd stop down the lense a little next time...but I always tend to prefer bright shots of little people, so you got thumbs up from me.

also are you using a single focus point? In the last shot of him in the bag the bag is in great focus and he's a bit soft. If you focus and recompose or choose the top focus point it would be more on the money, tho it is a great shot.

These are very cute :) The softness has already been mentioned and there is also a slight yellow cast? Maybe it just my monitor though. But with an USM layer and a curves and saturation adjustment, it can look a little better :)
Here is my go at it

He really is adorable isn't he! He is very expressive too! Made it very fun shooting him. They were a little yellow cast. I tried to fix the color but I'm still not the best at it especially when there were over 500 pics I was going through. I did only have one focal point. I tried the multiple focal points before and it didn't work for me and when I was trying to get a good cute shot (babies don't hold those cute shots very long ;)) I guess I wasn't getting spot on but I always aim for the eyes. that's also why I had the dof so high... I thought it would get more of the shot in focus but I guess that worked against me. Well thank you all for the c&c. I guess it's a good thing that my friends and family aren't professional photographers. I'm just glad the mom liked them. I have another 1st birthday shoot next week and I will try and use all the c&c towards it :)

the DOF at 2.8 gives you a small focal point, f4 and higher (even tho it is called stoping the lens down) gives you a greater area of focus.

The processing that Kajawhit did shows how fantastic they will be when you work out the post processing. You should take a look at Lightroom 2 , it allows you to process all of your shots at once and saves TONS of time. There is a free 30 day trial at adobe.com
