Face-Priority AF - a nice little feature from Nikon

I know it's a Canon forum, but we have to stay in touch with what the competition is cooking, right ? So here goes - Nikon announced new technology, called Face-Priority AF, which will allow the camera to identify person's face in the frame and focus on it automatically. When two or more persons are in the frame, the camera will select the closest one as the focus target. Pretty neat little feature for their compact P&S cameras if you ask me !

Oh goodness!!! What will they come up with next??

Face priority sounds very amateursish.........Canon should up the ante and do EYE priority - something that finds the eye and focus there.

Tha WAS developed for amateurs who are not familiar with other photographic techniques for properly focus on the face. My mom, for example.
