I live in middle GA and i am wondering if there is a site that has a schedule that shows car shows. I did a few googles and came up empty handed. Thanks.

Did you try your local newspaper? Or ask someone you saw with a classic?
Ask some of these guys. (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=Classic+cars+GA&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=10&lr=&as_filetype=&ft=i&as_sitesearch=&as_qdr=all&as_rights=&as_occt=any&cr=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&safe=images)

Auto trader has a page that lists a lot of shows. I think auto trader is national. But with local editions. But since you are in Georga, you will want to go to the NOPI show! it is as the Atlanta Motor Speedway. (I think that is what it is called) It is one of the biggest shows each year.

A couple of clicks on the Atlanta Journal and Constitution (http://www.ajc.com/) Web site led to the Access Atlanta web site, (http://www.accessatlanta.com/events/content/events/index.html) which then then led to an events page that had a link listing dozens of car events in the Atlanta area. (http://www.accessatlanta.com/event/events2/etc/userAdvanceSearchResult.jspd?c=e1&categories=3541&timeOfDay=-1&eventOccurCheck=dates&eventOccurdates=-1&sortColumn=NONE&sortOrder=¤tBlock=1¤tPage=1&cxntlid=evt_cars)

Thanks a lot. I did run into some one with a 65 Ford Fairlane 500. It was a real nice car. Original 289 and mint. He does not enter it in shows but offered me the chance to shoot it anywhere I want once he returned from vacation. i can not wait.

there is also a car meet at the Varsity in Atlanta, on (I think) the first thursday of each month. You might call them and see if that is right.

True story. I grew up in Macon. 18 years. When I was shot, like the only three things around. Rosehill, Coleman Hill, and my sister being on the police force got me direct access into the Macon Colesium to shoot wrestling matches, concerts, car shows, etc..
I won the photo show at the Fair 4 years straight.
That being said... there isn't crap to shoot in Macon.
But then I moved to another city and went through the usual sites there...and pretty soon, it was just like before... nothing new to shoot...
Then I moved to ANOTHER city.... and... (get the idea?)
One suggestion in Macon is you can wander the old section of downtown. Where the old car dealerships used to be around 4th - 8th street areas (about 4 - 5 blocks east of City Hall). Many dilapidated buildings around there to explore and shoot the interior shells of. If they are still there. When I was there they were nothing but 4 walls, no roofs, with steel beams inside propping them up, but I still got really cool shots of the broken out windows and such.

Yeah I actually grew up in Macon and then moved to Warner Robins. I think most of the old buildings that you are talking about are now one wall held up by steel beams. The homeless and drug dealers kind of took up there and the city can not remove the front of the buildings because of their historic value but they can leave just the front go figure.
I am beginning to see that there are no car shows in macon or Warner Robins. However there are car clubs and I am trying to get in on there locations.

How about the Air Force exhibit thingy at the museum WRAFB?
Take a wide angle lens and get up close to the cockpit instruments or the other details?
Take a short trip to High Falls, I got some really really good shots of the abandon buildings in the woods, but this was before they whipped up the chain link fence to keep people out. I also *carefully* went out on the rocks in the river and got some unique landscape shots and river shots.
Try Six Flags at Halloween for something different. I am going to Universal to shoot there for the Halloween Horror Nights.
Practice sports photography at Central City Park (and pick up some good contacts for photographing teams and high schools)
