Hmmm, not sure. I suppose if you keep your sigma set at 17mm @ f/2.8 the entire time you maybe fine. But, I don't have much experience concerning shooting car shows at night.
How late at night?

Take a tripod and a CPL just in case. For the more rare cars, I tend to shoot with tripod and CPL at multiple angles to reduce as much reflection as possible. Also long shutter speeds to blur out loads of people walking around.

Thanks I will have too read up on late night lighting. Ive talked to a few people that have been to this car show last year and their telling me that there is always a crowd around the cars very hard to get a good picture. Well will have to find out for myself. I will be sure to post my results
Thanks Photoguy

there is always a crowd around the cars very hard to get a good picture The later you stay, the better the light gets & the more people go home.
And some of the cars will have left letting you get some clear side shots, too.

If you know any entrants, see if you can get in early and shoot before everyone gets in. If you can get in early, you can probably use your 100 or 70-200. Also, if the cars are modded, take tight shots of the mods.

get a fast wide angle lens. maybe a tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 or sigma 30mm f/1.4. wide angle is very handy in tight spaces especially when a lot of people are around the cars. you would also need a tripod, or boosting your iso.
