It seemed like a good idea to go and shoot some aircraft today as it was nice where I live so I jumped into the car and drove to Heathrow Airport. Problem was that it was gloomy in London and this is one of the better ones that I got

nice pic... only things i could suggest is to bring out the detail in the underside... but the dark blue underside of BA doesn't help... and find a nicer day to shoot, within interesting skies... other than that, a nice shot :)
Where do you go to take shots down at Heathrow... i've been down to Gatwick a couple of times now... but not to Heathrow, and i'd liek to get some good shots of the big guys coming in.
You're right too... the waether has been rubbish over here today, i brought my camera with me to work in case it was like yesterday

Good shot, I agree with Littlenose about trying to bring out more detail from the underside. I'm still trying to do the same with my pictures.

It's the second time I've tried at Heathrow. The first time I was directed to a field at the end of Myrtle Avenue (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=509340&y=175011&z=1&sv=myrtle+avenue&st=1&tl=Myrtle+Avenue,+Feltham&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf) next to the A30 and today, as they were landing from the west I parked up neat the M25 here (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=504250&y=176750&z=1&sv=accommodation+lane&st=1&tl=Accommodation+Lane,+West+Drayton&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf).
I didn't realise that the Terminal Five project was so advanced.
Here's another picture..

Should have tried Cardiff airport. It's not as busy at Rhoose is it? They were dropping out the sky every minute at Heathrow.

woweee... that is close!
yes they do appear every couple of minutes at Heathrow and Gatwick, which is good, but i think if i had the choice in weather and knew in advance, i'd go for sunny ;-)

Dont take off as much at Cardiff Airport, probably about 1 every 20-30 mins. compared to 1 every minute at heathrow.
