Wanting a third light to occasionally be used with my new Elinchrom setup and also wanting a 580EXII Speedlight I thought instead of buying another BX400 and a Speedlight, could I use the Speedlight with the strobes effectively if I got an umbrella/bracket/or softbox to use with it?

And if I get Skyport radio triggers, can I use one of the receivers on the Speedlight? This would be in situations where nothing would be mounted on or attached in any way to the camera.

I'd also in other situations like to be able to use the Speedlight remotely on a stand by it'self the way I saw in Confessions of a Photographer on UTube, it looked really handy.

Also for shooting people in action, like sports but in a contained area, what is the flash duration with a Speedlight, i.e. if I'm using it for fill in contrasty lighting situations?

I have a lot of knowledge about continuous lighting but just as little knowledge about flash as I had about strobes a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks.

Works fine, i've done it, you just need one of these (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/421306-REG/Paramount_PMMHSF1_Miniphone_to_Female_Hot.html/BI/2312/KBID/3114). Flash duration is so short it doesn't matter.
