I found something
Using 2500 mAh NiMh rechargeable batteries, I got 212 full-power pops, with faster recycle times as well

So would that mean since eneloops have 2000 mAh NiMh, I would get 170 full power flashes? Or is the math different since you are dealing with different 'voltage' for rechargable changes?
If so then from there I can then calculate about

From a fully charged set of eneloops, how many shots should I expect from eneloops on 1/4 power before having to change the batteries? I am trying to plan out how many batteries do I need for a photoshoot. So far I've gotten to 100+ shots then I charge them, not because I needed to, but so that I can have a full charge for the next time I shot etc. But this information would be great to know. If anyone does know I'd love to hear it!

You have the gears, it's not that hard to do the testing yourself :) I wouldn't depend on the other users' number anyway, as the capacities on each flash and battery sets are different.

i had vivitar 285 hvs that i would shoot on 1/16th power for the entire day and still have plenty of juice. Id guess between half to a quarter of a day of flashes at 1/4 power

i would say about 80 give or take 20

You have the gears, it's not that hard to do the testing yourself :) I wouldn't depend on the other users' number anyway, as the capacities on each flash and battery sets are different.
I may just try it out, sit there and keep clicking the cactus trigger and see how many flashes it gives :] I can imagine someone walking past my room it would almost seem like there's a fire alarm going off lol.

Bad idea, Unlike Lithium Nickel batteries have "memory effect". That mans if you do not fully discharge them before the recharge the battery "thinks" you do not need that power and looses it's capacity when doing this repeatedly.

From my understand it's the complete opposite
Not suffering from the 'memory effect' allows you to charge these 2000 mAh rechargeable AA NiMH batteries anytime you like - no more waiting until your AA batteries are completely discharged before being able to charge them up.

NiMH have a small memory, nowhere near as bad as NiCD, but not as good as Lithium. PowerEx/Maha recommend you completely discharge your batteries then charge them again at least once in ten cycles.
I have some 2700mah cells that I had never fully discharged, once I got my Maha C-9000 charger/analyser it told me the capacity was around 1500mah. Once I did a break in (charge, discharge, charge, discharge, charge) the capacity went up to 2500mah.

I can buy 8 inches of Envelope batteries and it costs me only 1/4" of bills. Still it is enough to take pictures of 100 square meters of people. I would need two pockets of lithium batteries to achieve the same results. :rolleyes:

I've purchased film by the foot before, but I can't say I've ever purchased batteries in inches.
And just imagine hiring a wedding photographer and him asking you "how many square meters of people will be there?"
