Hello folks.
I've been contacted by some production company which is in final stages of setting up a website. This website will specialize in selling a very specific kind of imaginery of holy places in Israel. The guy sent me an email with a proposition to sell some of my images I have in my gallery; I will recieve a fee for every picture sold.
As I have no idea about the proper terms and pricing - could you enlighten me about these ? What terms should be discussed, what kind of contract should we sign (what should it include) etc. ?
Thanks in advance.

Well first I would wait until the website is actually up so u can see if they are trully professional and offer a good service. The main reason I dont do much online galleries myself is that i get hassled to much by people who want to rip me off. They pretend they are from a big company or an upcoming company and they offer me a price (usually a low one at that, with a crappy contract full of holes) and/or they say they will send u the money once they recieve the full size photo (but then they just take the photo, make some prints, and run :/
Of course this may be a legit company, so its best to talk on the phone and arrange the price. I can really give u a quote as u havent provided what use of the photos will be (is it like a stock photo site, or something else), how long do they want it (forever?), are they paying u once or is it royalties.

Well, Avalonthas - if you don't display your work, how do you want people to know about it ? One of the (main) interests in photography is to present your work to other people and see what they have to say about it. There will be people who will like it and there will be even ones who will offer you a job based on what they saw. Of course there will be some who will try to rip you off - I say, just deal with them and move on.
Besides the price, there are many legal issues to deal with - licensing (what uses to license, for whom and for how long), general terms and limitations etc.

Depends whether you want to sell your pictures or talk about them...
If your work is very saleable, put it in the best shop window you can find. If that happens to be a legitimate, professional picture library then the question of rights & useage fees will be handled by them. If it's anything else you'll get ripped off or at best undersold.
Good Luck.
