OK, I'm new to SDHC. I'm use to shooting with a pocket full of 2gb extreme III's. I have purchased as a test an 8GB SDHC Extreme III SanDisk. I removed it from the pack, popped it in the camera and shot a few test pics. Looked on the camera and all seemed to be fine. The picture can be previewed on the LCD. I removed the SDHC, pluged it into the handy dandy new SDHC reader that came with it and there are my pictures.Well sort of. I can see the dsc files, 5.5 or so megs a piece, shooting data but no image. Open in bridge to a white screen, image viewer (no preview avaliable), PS (white screen). The data is there or at least the capasity of an image is there.
I have formatted in the PC as well as the camera. Tried it on my point and shoot and received the similar results but..........when I opened the file the first time there was no image. When I went back to the explorer, half of the thumbnail was visible, meaning that there was a picture. I opened that file again and the first half of the picture was there but the bottom was digital garbage.
Am I missing something? Is there a file building time (a buffer) that has to occur? Any one else have this or similar issue? Bad disk?
Any help or comments would be appreciated.
BTW. I can move files in and out of it with no data loss, pc to pc. I've copied music, data, docs, etc...........It just won't process images.
