I'm looking to buy a cannon 40D to shoot models, what lenes should I buy can someone help me out ?

Are we talking full body shots, close up headshots, half body shots... in a studio, on location, what? Do you have any lighting gear?

I'm thinking full body, close up all of that in like a hotel room and what type of lights you think I need..

well, a 17-55 would do it, but you might have to be careful about perspective distortion when wide. Otherwise a 24-70. in a hotel room? I would check out strobist and look at some of the off camera flash solutions. Everything also depends on budget.

Depends on your budget. And if you don't have lighting gear... well there's only so much you can do.

depends on: budget, space you're shooting in. I shoot mainly with a 50mm 1.4 (full body, half body) and the 85mm 1.8 (portraits, closeups) I shoot wit an XT.
