Under water Strobe for G9

I have a G9 with a Canon housing and I am now looking for a strobe. Does any one have any advice on which one. I have looked at the Epoque ES-150 and the sea & sea YS-27. But I am not sure if it is worth paying the extra and looking at the sea & sea YS 110. Most of the use is in the UK down to 40M. The reason for the canon case is that the Ikelite case is very heavy when traveling abroad, and I don't realy want 2 cases. Although it is not out of the question

We dive with G9 and Ikelite housing. Went with the housing cause we shoot using there strobes as well DS125's. We went with Ikelite due to its robustness and the abiltiy to change out the ports for adding on the WAL.

I have never hear dof the Epoque strobes however the Sea & Sea are decent just we find most divers in our area tend to dive the Ikelites.

I was on the Ikelite sponsored "Demo Days" dive trip to Grand Cayman back in June. The Ikelite people brought all the camera housing equipment and strobes, you just brought your cameras. You could borrow anything you wanted. Only problem, you had to return it!:D

I used my G7 in my own Canon housing, and put one of the Ikelite AutoFlash AF35 stobes on it for a couple of dives. I found it to be unrealiable, since it syncs off of the onboard flash. Sometimes it flashed, sometimes it didn't. And getting correct exposures was hit or miss as well.

Now, using any of the other Ikelite strobes is a breeze, especially if you have a TTL cord. You can get a DS51 for a good price, or you can go crazy and get a pair of DS200s. Probably more than you need with a point and shoot, though.

Seriously, any of the Ikelite strobes above the AF35 will be fine.

I have heard the Inon strobes are pretty good and seem to work well with the Canon housing. I do not have any personal experience with this though.

I use the Ike housing & DS-51 strobe with my G9.
