I had tried this a couple of times before without success, then I used the "Moon Exposure Calculator" http://www.adidap.com/2006/12/06/moon-exposure-calculator/ and this was my first shot a few minutes ago -

Nice one Walt. I live on the 20th floor in the middle of the city, so it was about 200 before I got a decent shot with no swaying or convection.

Eddie - this was the 70-200 with the 1.4 extender. Try the link to the calculator - it really helps you get started with the right exposure.

Excellent shot, I am so impressed that I am duplicating the exposure calculator as an executable application, so that net access isn't required..I am also considering migrating this app to PDA/Smart Phone (WM6)

Good idea. I was looking for some little project to learn Mac's Xcode... I might as well do it for Mac OS X and iPhone... my Java Script is very rusty... will take some Googling to figure out a few stuff!
