Off to Europe

Looking for advice and direction.

I'll be heading to France and Germany in two weeks. I'll be bringing a Digital SLR, several lenses, flashes, a larger video camera (GL-2), etc. This will be carry on and not checked. Do I need to have this equipment "verified" to prove I own this equipment so I don't get taxed on the return trip to the states?

I don't worry about this and have never been challenged on return. It may be due to the fact that gear overseas is far more expensive than buying it in the USA.

I suggest you take a copy of your purchase receipts. That was the advice when I checked with Customs in Detroit.
