Took some family photos this evening for my sister and bro in law. More for practice than anything really. I used all three of my lenses, mainly the 18-55 kit lens though, most of the shots were OOF, sharpened them up in PS. Looking for some comments and criticism on how to get better. The youngest nephew would not mind for anyone, very frustrating.

Well somehow I messed all of the image tags up, so you will have to click the links on the rest.

They will be happy with your results.... img513 is very nice! ... too bad about the blur on img82 because I like the pose and setting.

^ Yea I don't know what was up with my focus, seems like most of my photos were OOF or blurred.

Having 2 young kids of my own, I understand your frustration of an uncooperative "subject". Trick is to keep them moving, have Mom and Dad go away if possible (chances are they are acting up due to them). And in many cases, bribery always works great - offer ice cream, a ball game, anything that you would have already offered. I always try to plan out what photos i'd like to get, and check out the location before they arrive. They look good though, and I'm sure your sister was pleased. Keep working with kids, their expressions are much more animated than adults!

Shooting kids is always a challenge! Never fails their on the move different lighting conditions and all kinds of movement. I really like the picture of the three of them looking into the puddle. Your right they are just a tad OOF, try throwing the 50mm 1.8 on and use your feet as your zoom and keep a eye on the backround.

Good luck and have fun!
