Which pumpkin photo would be better for a contest?

I'm entering my local camera clubs fall contest and I have some photos I shot of mini pumpkins in a large bin but I can't decide which would make a better submission? I can crop and photoshop the pics but prefer not to.

I like the color in #2 but the edge of the bucket they were in can be seen. I can't cleanly crop it without cutting out the focal point (the pumpkin).

You can use the clone brush to continue the bucket up and out of the frame...

Id use the second image as it leave much more room for PP. You can do more with the contrast and such as the exposure is brighter

nm haha I didn't notice that huge white corner on the right! I say go back early morning, find a better composition and better lighting...maybe a wooden bale of pumpkins with light shining through etc...

Thanks wally - ya, the lower right corner is the biggest problem - I can fix the upper left corner easily.

Unfortunately this shot can't be duplicated as the farm we were at is no where near my home and getting back there will be next weekend at the earliest and the contest ends Wednesday.


Any other ideas?

make it a vertical, you wont have to worry about loosing all that data because its just for a contest?
