Hello all,
Here's a pic I took just before Christmas of a Kookaburra at a local wildlife park using my 300D & 75-300 IS. I was very pleased with the blur as it was a chainlink fence less than 1m behind the bird. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks Paul, They're a member of the Kingfisher family but I think a bit larger than the regular ones you see around. They also have a very unique call which sounds like someone laughing hysterically!! Here's another pic with more of a side profile, getting ready for take off.

It sure does look like he's giving you the evil eye. That beak looks like it could do some damage too. The background really did turn out well since the fence is nowhere to be seen.

Like the attittude , and the BG blur, but find the bird a bit OOF (or it might be my flatscreen)
