These are the minor leagues of pro wrestling, where the performers work hard for a lot of attention but not a huge amount of cash. The audience was into this show just as much as if this was a big-time arena presentation. A small show means you can get extremely close to the action - but not too close on this night (we stayed off the apron so as not to endanger the equipment). This event also came at an unusual place, a race track infield. Most of the track's lights were turned off when the wrestling started (race promoter probably didn't want to waste money lighting parts of the track that weren't being used), which meant it was time for the 50mm f/1.8 II and ISO 1600 to get action shots without flash.
