Ok, so the contest was kind of a flop, and the winner gets nothing. That wasn’t my original intention but some things took place which made this kind of hard to finish off. I'm sorry it was run so poorly. None the less, I think we ended with some awesome photographs and one clear winner.

Congratulations SSIM with your photograph "Wind Farm"

This image has some amazing color and a very interesting subject. I love the way the green sweeps into the blue and the way the clouds sweep within it. I love the title, I love the fans, they are surreal as well as the overall look of this photo. Way to go.

Second place went to a photograph that almost got cheated out of the contest; again, I’m sorry about that. I'm very glad a sports photograph got to the final round and then did so well.

Eniac's photograph "Swimmer" is the ultimate in perfection. The timing is perfect, the colors are perfect, the contrast is perfect, the subject is perfectly sharp, the symmetry, framing, is perfect...right down to the water coming off his chin. I love this photograph.

There was a three way tie for third with 10 votes each.
The first was one of the first entered and one of my personal favorites.
RichieHatch's "Blue Dawn" is simplicity at its best. One color in different tones, a very simple subject. I look at the photograph and I’m not real sure what I’m looking at which works perfectly because it doesn’t force me to think, it's just soothing to look at. The title also adds to this effect

Buachaille Etive Mor...I don’t know what the hell that means, but I do know that lesmac's photographs is one of the best I’ve ever seen. I always say that if it looks like a painting and it's a photograph, of a scene at least, then it was done to perfection. Although I wish it was a little bit brighter, the colors and motion blur of this water...its just stunning

Wazza's photograph makes me want to move out of Illinois. I don’t think you have to be a surfer to dream of sunsets like the one in "Surfers Dream". Great composition, great lighting, and fantastic timing. I love this shot.

I congratulate all who were involved. I'm going to slowly identify all the photographs to their respective photographers, but please be patient. Some of you didn’t name the photographs as I asked so it's going to take a little longer. No worries though.

Again, congrats to all who entered there isn’t a photograph in the bunch that I wouldn’t be proud of taking myself (that includes mine  ).

Now, go out there and take some more photographs...the year is young :-)

(and I can assure you, next year will be fun differently...that is a promise)

And a big thanks for meghan for posting everything while i couldnt.

Please feel free to critique and comment on your favorite photographs of the contest!

Only on pay accounts, not free accounts. You need to put a .jpg in the link.

Hey thanks.

Just wish I had a Canon last November. I used a Sony point and shoot for that one.
Was all about timing. No such thing as 5 frames per second. More like 2 seconds per photo! Lag to speed is incredible. I've gone from a Mini to a Ferrari. Recommend Canon DSLR's to anyone.

Excellent shot Sheldon. It's that shot that motivated me to go out and take photos of the wind farms in Palmerston North. Unfortunately I haven't walked away with results yet! But I'll keep trying.

Congratulations
