I find myself coming here in the hopes that you lovely people can be of assistance to me.

I have been asked by a local band after they saw some of my work to shoot some portrait type shots for them. This is all very well except for the fact that I have not done much work in the area of portraits. They asked that I give it a shot anyways.

So, any tips you all could throw out that may assist me in my shoot?

Thank you in advance!.

Wow, three days roll by and no one pipes up? Well i am guessing it might be because this is a very difficult question to address.

First off, what is you current experience? What gear do you have? How much do you understand, i.e. do you know the effects an aperture has on an image and the light, etc.? Do you understand the fundamentals of exposure and how a light meter in the camera can be fooled and what to look for to compensate for certain conditions? Or are you more worried about poses, location, props, etc.? Are you using natural light, or plan on using a flash? If flash do you use it off camera? How about more than one flash? Flash plus available light? In other words what conditions do you expect to be shooting in? A stage? Outdoor? Indoor?

You get the idea.... your question is a little too generalized for anyone to go after how to help you. Be more specific on the areas you need help with and we can be more help.
