I'll be attending a track day at Infineon Raceway, and I personally will have access to the paddock and possibly the spectator stands.
Which lens do you guys recommend for me to use in this type of situation?
Thanks in advance.

If you are going to be in the stands you are going to need something long for track shots; like RadAL said 300 +. If you can get closer to the track you should be able to get some good pan shots with someting in the 200 range. In the paddock I tend to use my 70-200 and 24-70. Hope that helps.

thanks guys!
I think I'm going to rent out a 100-400mm and bring my 18-75 along..

I use an 70-200 with a 1.4X extender. I'm very happy with this combination. I also love the 100-400. I keep it locked at 400 and use it as a poorman's prime lens, though.

As someone that is hardcarded for Infineon I can tell you that 400 will get it done pretty well fromthe spectator area (assuming cars here). The 100-400 is a good compromise if there is plenty of light.

i use a 170 - 500 on a monopod for far away shots but nearly always use a 70 - 200 s it covers what i want.

I took a 100-400 to Phillip Island, and it worked a treat....

+1 as I also have shot at the same venue but on the Karting track when we were there racing. I personally use the same as CamaroSS, 70-200mm with a 1.4X Extender. Have fun out there and please post of some pics when you are finished. I love that track!

Cheers!
