Some pictures from the MD Ren Fest.

I took the family to the MD Ren Fest this weekend and tried to work on my people picture taking skills. C&C Welcome.

Second one works for me, i dont like the first one as much.

The second has very nice colors that together works great.
The girl is also super-cute which imo is never negative :)

In #1, her skin looks blue on my monitor. Other than this, I think it's the better of the two shots -- or has more promise. In the second, you're dealing with direct overhead sunlight, which puts her eyes in the shadows of her brows.

Well, first between the two shots, I think the first one is the better of the two by far. Wonderful color, great exposure, good composition...my only real nit is that it would have been nice if she had of been looking at you. I'm guessing the blue color in her face was just make up...strange, but not unexpected at a Ren Fair :D.

The second shot is ok, but I think the lighting could have been better and honestly the girls expression doesn't do much for me either...I think that's what folks might call a "sad smile" maybe.

My one big suggestion would be to pay more attention to the lighting. Being a "Ren Fair" most of the time folks are usually quite willing to pose for the camera, so take a moment and move the subject into the shade. Most Ren Fairs are usually outdoors in wooded or semi-wooded areas, so it's not usually too difficult to find a nice Northerly shaded area.
